Distribution and habitat:
Originating from the Cross River system in southeastern Nigeria and western Cameroon, as well as the Benue River drainage in central Nigeria.
Known towns include Akaram, Akure, Enugu, Kluge, Lafia, Makurdi, Nsukka, Okwoga and Udi Mountain.

Between 5 and 5.5 cm

Males grow larger, have brighter colors, and develop more extended fins than females.
