Our Ibon River kit is the perfect choice for aquarists looking to create a unique and eye-catching aquatic environment in their aquariums. Inspired by the high altitude lakes, known as Ibons, of the Pyrenees.

The high-altitude lakes and streams of the Pyrenees are an impressive natural wonder. These bodies of water are characterized by crystal clear waters that reflect the surrounding peaks and sky. Streams flowing in and out of lakes often move quickly, running over smooth stones and rocky outcrops. The landscape surrounding the lakes is rugged and spectacular, with steep cliffs and dense forests of evergreen trees. In summer, the meadows surrounding the lakes are covered in wildflowers, creating a colorful and vibrant contrast to the rocky terrain. As fall approaches, the leaves on the trees take on a golden hue, creating a striking visual contrast with the deep blue of the lakes and streams. Despite the harsh environment and extreme conditions, these high-altitude lakes and streams are teeming with life, from the smallest invertebrates to the largest fish, and provide a refuge for a wide range of aquatic and terrestrial species.

This kit recreates the lakes of Ibon with a mix of light sand, dark gravel, cool, smooth pebbles and Black Venom rocks that have been worn away by water over time. The result is a beautiful, high-contrast riverbed print that brings a sense of drama and intrigue to your aquarium.

This carefully crafted Riverbed substrate composition recreates the unique characteristics of high mountain rivers and streams, where water wears away shale and debris into cool, smooth pebbles. The Ibon River kit includes a variety of sizes of our Black Venom Boulders, whose dark, solid shapes offer a bold presence within the display. The kit also contains light sand mixed with small dark smooth stones, providing a mix of high contrast textures and colors.

When wet, all the stones in this kit shimmer and shine beautifully, darkening and creating a strong contrast with the green plants, creating a moody atmosphere. And we included our Wetland Artist Dark substrate, ideal for supporting lush plant growth and blending well with the dark aesthetic of hardscape.
