Reptiles are ectotherms, and obtain heat from an external source to regulate their optimal body temperature. Most reptiles use radiant heat from the direct sun in combination with conductive heat from surfaces heated by the sun, such as branches, rocks, or other heat-accumulating structures. Providing an appropriate temperature gradient for certain species in your terrarium is an important factor in good reptile keeping. With the Exo Terra Electronic Thermostat you can create a well-controlled heating system that allows you to maintain the required temperature conditions , similar to those found in a desert or tropical environment. The Exo Terra thermostat will also help prevent overheating and excessive cooling during hot summer days or cold winter nights.

The Exo Terra® Thermostat must be adjusted according to the needs of the animals . You should thoroughly research the optimal preferred temperature range for your specific reptile, so that you can create the correct temperature gradients within the terrarium to allow your reptiles to thermoregulate.

The thermostat maintains the temperature at the set point with much greater precision than conventional thermostats and practically eliminates sudden temperature fluctuations in the terrarium . Additionally, it comes with a 190cm/6.2ft cord with grounding and receptacle for added safety and to allow use on a thief or power strip. The waterproof remote sensor can be safely used in very humid terrariums and aquatic environments.

There are two models of Exo Terra Thermostats: ON/OFF and Dimmable Day/Night.

Dimmable Day/Night Thermostat 600W

With the 600W Exo Terra Dimmable Day Night Thermostat you can set a daytime and nighttime temperature separately to ensure safe temperature fluctuations for reptiles between day and night. The dimmable function maintains the temperature at the set point with much greater precision than conventional thermostats and practically eliminates sudden temperature fluctuations in the terrarium. The easy to read blue LCD display shows the actual temperature in the terrarium and the set temperature, this display will brighten during the day and dim at night. A red LED indicator and a heating symbol will indicate when the heating device is working . Once the set temperature has been reached, the LED indicator will change to blue and the heating symbol will no longer appear. The heat sensor placed inside the terrarium also has a built-in light sensor that detects the light intensity of the environment and will cause the thermostat to automatically switch between day and night settings, depending on the light intensity of the environment. . The dial and button system of the thermostat will prevent accidental changes in the set temperature while manipulating the device, that is, to change the temperature setting you have to press a button while turning the dial.

ON/OFF thermostat 100W and 300W

The 100 and 300 W Exo Terra ON/OFF Thermostat has an electronic TRIAC switch that maintains the temperature at the desired set point with much greater precision compared to conventional thermostats and practically eliminates temperature fluctuations in the terrarium . Simply connect the mat, heating cable or ceramic heater to the Exo Terra Electronic Thermostat, set the preferred temperature and place the heat sensor at the desired point. The red LED heat indicator will illuminate when the heating device is operating and turns off once the desired temperature has been reached . The thermostat dial is moved with a flat screwdriver or similar tool, to prevent accidental temperature changes if the device is being manipulated.

Day/Night Dimmable Model 600W The 600W model has a Day/Night LCD display. Allows you to set the day and night temperature separately. From 10º to 60º C. Easy-to-read blue LCD display shows actual and set terrarium temperature. Heat sensor with included light sensor that switches between day and night settings automatically based on surrounding light. Dimming function eliminates sudden temperature fluctuations. Controls heating devices up to 600 W.

ON/OFF model 100W/300W The 100W and 300W models have ON/OFF modes. From 20°C to 35°C. Controls heating devices up to 100 and 300 W respectively.
